Dome Marina Sailing Centre is Egypt's First Sailing School

The sailing centre at Marina Wadi el Dome is located in the Gulf of Suez. Our location is ideal for sailing. DMSC is about 90 minutes east and south of Cairo, making it a very convenient day trip or weekend trip. Our facilities are fast becoming a charming, international hub that draws inspiration from the essence of Egypt. Our sailing community has grown since we opened and attracts a vastly diverse clientele. At any given time, one can walk our beach and hear several different languages being spoken; sometimes just in one group conversation!

Dinghy Sailing Lessons

Learn basic sailing, fine-tune your skills or just explore the beautiful Red Sea coast. Dome Marina Sailing Centre offers beginner, refresher and advanced sailing courses. Anyone that is interested in sailing is welcome, no matter what the age. Our students are from 5 years to 72 years.

Almost all of our sailing lessons are hands-on and tailored to suit your sailing skills. On-shore instruction is usually with one or two other individuals.

The DMSC curriculum emphasizes water safety, wind awareness, boat handling, and seamanship. No matter what level  you are in your sailing experience, we lead with safety, fun, and learning sailing independence. Course details >>

Youth Curriculum

DMSC has organized a Sailing Curriculum designed for students ages 8 to 11. We work with schools to organize a day at the beach for groups of students. We will work with school instructors to incorporate student lessons into beach and sea activities.

We can set a program that will take students from on-shore to the sea. For example, a day can be broken into segments for students to learn the basics of sailing, sailing theory, parts of the boat, and how to tie knots. Depending on the size of the student group, other activities include swimming, water rescue and life saving, learning about environmental issues such as the protection and conservation of the land and marine ecology in the Red Sea area, and even camping.

The Dome Marina Sailing Centre student sailing program emphasizes safety, fun, and interactive learning. Our Goals

• To promote the sport of sailing

• To develop youth activities and leadership

• To encourage sailing spirit and sportsmanship

The children participate in learning. At the end of the basic student sailing course, students will have a basic understanding of almost any small sailing vessel. They will receive a certificate to show their completion of the program.

Dome Marina Sailing Centre Membership Community

No sailing Centre is complete without our members. We are building a sailing community in Egypt by organizing sailing events, as well as social events for members and guests.

Our facilities are available to members to hire for special events, courses, or other community-related activities. Come, enjoy the fun and healing powers of the Red Sea. Take a break from sailing to enjoy snorkeling and swimming in calming sea waters. The water temperatures are always pleasant making swimming an everyday event.
