12 November - Egypt Sailing : 1st DMSC Regatta DMSC's first sailing regatta was on Friday 12 November. Video on our YouTube channel here >>> Our members will be racing their Topaz Uno Plus sailboats. The Topaz Uno Plus Egyptian fleet was started at DMSC with a shipment of eight sailboats in July 2010. In cooperation with Sport Boats Limited of Maadi, DMSC is offering a special price to interested sailors to purchase their own Topaz Uno Plus boat. The regatta presents an opportunity to interested buyers to see and test the sailboats on the water. View promotional poster here >>
Smart Village School Student Day Trip to Dome Marina Sailing Centre5 November 2010

The Dome Marina Sailing Centre student sailing program emphasizes safety, fun, and interactive learning. Our Goals • To promote the sport of sailing • To develop youth activities and leadership • To encourage sailing spirit and sportsmanship The children participate in learning. At the end of the basic student sailing course, students will have a basic understanding of almost any small sailing vessel. July Member's Topaz Sail Boats Arrive! Seven members ordered Topaz Uno Plus sailboats at the end of last season. The boats arrived in July and we were excited to get them unpacked and ready for the summer winds.
Click here for photos from Day 1 Activities >> Egypt’s first Spring Water Sports Expo was a crowd-pleasing success. The wind cooperated to give kitesurfers, windsurfers and sailors the ultimate sporting experience. The beach-side crowd was held spellbound as Yann from Fun-Kite, Safaga, entertained us with jumps, twists and turns as he kitesurfed the beautiful turquoise waters of Marina Wadi el Dome. Sherifa Ashraf, Egypt’s three times National Sailing Champion buzzed the waters with speed and agility in a Pico Laser, Topper Topaz, and the Topper Magno. Expo vendors had plenty of water sports equipment to choose for all day entertainment. Visitors were excited to be able to try their turn with sea kayaks, several types of sailing boats and small catamarans. Vision Trading had plenty of sea kayaks and exciting water sports equipment for visitors to play when the winds were calmer. In no time, it was the participants that ruled the waters and entertained us with their spills and successes. Spectators enjoyed beachside seats, sipped cool drinks and exchanged stories. As the khamasin weather persists to heat us up and then chill us down, many of the show visitors were excited to find a variety of neoprene wetsuits, tops and bottoms. Distribution Red Sea brought their collection of water sports clothing and accessories that are designed for water sporting. On 26 to 29 of November, Dome Marina Sailing Centre celebrated a soft opening for the Dome Marina and La Siesta community. It was exciting to see everyone that stopped by to sail, kayak, or just wish us well. Thank you all for such a fun and encouraging launch of the Centre. DMSC organized a Sailing Curriculum designed for students ages 8 to 11. They learned sailing, sailing theory, parts of the boat, and how to tie knots. From beach to the sea, other activities included swimming, water rescue and life saving, and camping.
