	2011 COURSE SESSIONS - Learn to Sail with Safety DMSC Course Descriptions COURSE NAME: Dinghy Training Level 1 Course Duration: 2 days, 8 hours per day Previous Experience: No previous experience required Course Details: Hands on training with the majority of the time spent on the water. This course provides an introduction to sailing for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling knowledge and techniques. Price: 700 LE (Gift certificates available on request) Course cost includes boat use and admission to the Centre facilities and beach. Classes are conducted in English or Arabic. An examination must be passed after the course to determine the level of the student and whether they can apply for skipper membership. By the end of this course, participants will be safety conscious and able to capsize and recover in a controlled manner. The course covers rigging to weather conditions, rope work, launching & recovery and more complicated maneuvers. Basic race procedures, starting and techniques are also covered. Price: 700 LE (Gift certificates available on request) Course cost includes boat use and admission to the Centre facilities and beach. Classes are conducted in English or Arabic. Like all our courses, training is mostly hands on with the majority of the time spent on the water. The course tackles areas from choosing the right boat and ownership considerations. Right through to race organisation, typical courses and start sequences. The course also covers race tactics and rig tuning. Price: 700 LE (Gift certificates available on request) Course cost includes boat use and admission to the Centre facilities and beach. Classes are conducted in English or Arabic. Don't worry if you haven't tried sailing before, there is plenty of on-hand help, guidance, and instruction at the Dome Marina Sailing Centre. Not sure what to wear? Be prepared to get wet. Wear something that is comfortable but not too baggy. Trousers should be flexible and light weight. Trousers or shirts shouldn't have a lining to make them easy to get into and out of and also make them fast drying. If you're coming to the beach for the day, bring two sets of clothes so that you will have a dry change of clothes to wear after your sailing lesson. Don't forget to bring a towel. Bathing suits are acceptable, but only in addition to the above. Please, no sandals or bare feet. Rubber-soled diving shoes are the best for this type of sailing. During our winter months, will always feel cooler on the water, so it is a good idea to bring an extra layer.
